Last year I diligently kept a catalog of articles written about topics related to PITCHf/x or using PITCHf/x data. Some of you have noticed that I have been negligent in updating that catalog this year. My last full update was January 15, and I did a partial update on March 1.
A new update is now in progress behind the scenes. Since the article list now exceeds six hundred articles, I’m working toward a database solution to better track them all. Hopefully, I’ll be able to unveil something within the next few weeks. In the mean time, Harry, if you would quit writing more than an article per day, that would help a lot. I should just rename my catalog the Cubs f/x Index. 😉

LMAO
Indeed, but, no dice my friend. Don’t forget Reds f/x and Red Sox f/x for other high output f/x blogs…..

Harry, you outclass everyone in terms of volume. You have 159 articles in my catalog so far, second most is Jonathan Hale with 70.
My “problem” is the volume is going up so much faster this year. Here’s how it looks by month:
Oct 2006: 1 article
Feb 2007: 1
Mar 2007: 1
Apr 2007: 7
May 2007: 6
Jun 2007: 18
Jul 2007: 15
Aug 2007: 38
Sep 2007: 70
Oct 2007: 49
Nov 2007: 20
Dec 2007: 24
Jan 2008: 48
Feb 2008: 56
Mar 2008: 57
Apr 2008: 113+
May 2008: 112+
I’m still catching up on the odd article here or there in the last couple months, but both months are over 100 articles each. When I first published my catalog last August, it had a total of 47 articles covering the first four months of the 2007 season.

Just for the heck of it, here are the most prolific PITCHf/x authors to date. Not that it means too much, but it’s interesting:
159 Harry Pavlidis
70 Jonathan Hale
46 Mike Fast
45 Josh Kalk
44 Renè Saggiadi
38 Joe P. Sheehan
34 Doug Gray
24 Dan Fox
17 Steve West
14 Bill Ferris
14 Dan Turkenkopf
14 Jay Paradise

Just a heads up… Eric Seidman has written a few

Yeah, there are a bunch of new authors. I wrote with Eric for a while at Stat Speak, and he and I still correspond occasionally about stuff, including PITCHf/x.
I hope to get something published on the catalog soon, and then I will definitely be soliciting input on articles, sites, or authors that I may have missed.

Yeah, I’ve done some but I’m not up to 14 yet I don’t think. The schedules at BP and StatSpeak allow for maybe 1 per week but there are always other areas of interest to write about.
I’m thinking if incorporating some more at Fangraphs but not to force it; if there’s an interesting aspect of a start to chronicle then I will but I like the longer research pieces now than profiles.

Mike you’re the best for compiling all of this. I know when I first started your catalog was the perfect resource to look at what everyone else was doing and to learn from them.
I look forward to the updated catalog and continuing to learn from everyone else’s work.
Your willingness to help everyone else out is greatly appreciated. So thank you.

Wow, I have a long way to go I guess. Seriously though, I think everyone really appreciates it.
Thanks.
